conomists: No party’ll sustain burden Investors react By Adeola Yusuf Nigerians should be ready for hike in power and petrol prices immediately after the 2019 general elections, economists and investors in the power and petroleum sectors have warned. Beginning from the first quarter of 2019, we’ll begin to see 5G enabled smartphone and MTN has promised to start 5G deployment before 2020. According to MTN, “5G will make our life better, drive incremental capacity and open up new businesses. MTN as a company is constantly making efforts to break barriers by democratising voice and data connectivity in order to improve subscriber experience, and has invested over N800bn in infrastructure in Nigeria.” You’ll recall that Earlier this year, MTN Nigeria conducted her first ever 5G technology test in partnership with ericsson and hit 20Gbps with less than 5ms latency in the 5G trial. MTN has received a temporary license for 800MHz of spectrum in the 15GHz band to conduct its 5G trials. And at TECHFEST , Mtn introduced how 5G network will be like. MTN Nigeria says it will start the commercial deployment of 5G technology before 2020. I wonder how the speed will be like… how many seconds it will take to download a 5GB file.

All hail Saraki, Nigeria’s number one political Mafioso by Buchi Obichie (Opinion) Read more:

Editors’ note: The writer, Buchi Obichie, analyses the superb political calculations of Senate President Bukola Saraki; especially his recent evasion of security operatives, only to appear at the red chamber and oversee the decimation of the APC! She describes him as a ‘political Mafioso’ and a force to be reckoned with; noting that with each tribulation he has encountered, the Senate president’s star has continued to rise. I love a good crime story. I’m particularly intrigued by the Italian mafia. They live by a set of rules…a code of conduct…a way of life. Real Mafioso’s are always neatly dressed, don’t talk too much and may appear as fools, but have minds of adept criminals. They also have a humane side, a genuine respect for family and others; and they usually won’t pick a fight until someone is foolish enough to take that route first…then all hell is let loose. The true Mafioso is shrewd, intelligent and cunning. He is always one step ahead. He gleans information by observation, a
